Reflecting has always been important to me in my life. I have kept a consistent journal since the age of 8 years old, and in a way it has been a form of therapy for my. I journal about my classes, when I am out in nature, when I have undergone a trial, and at happy and triumphant moments in my life. It helps me to see my mistakes, to learn and to grow. My blessings are also made clearer when I write them out on paper and I am more grateful because of it. That is why the Entrepreneur Journal is what I am most looking forward to in this class of Intro to Entrepreneur. When I saw the topics of the weeks had titles such as “Create a Life of Meaning,” “Moving Forward With a Driving Passion,”
“Loyalty and Leadership,” and “Dream Big Dreams,” I knew I would enjoy journaling about them. My goal for this class, as I reflect, is to learn
from the lessons ways to develop useful leadership skills and techniques.
In this weeks
class readings, I most enjoyed the talk by Elder David A. Bednar, “Your Whole Souls
as an Offering Unto Him.” I love how Elder Bednar urges students to develop a
mighty heart and a strong mind to effectively serve God. Also, he talks about
not just sacrificing our time and earthly things to the Lord. Elder Bednar asks
us all to consecrate ourselves to Him. Meaning we must develop and dedicate
ourselves to a sacred purpose, His purpose, building up the kingdom of God.
After reading his talk I have recommitted to
building a mighty heart through service, as well as building a strong mind by learning
at the Lord’s university. As a leader I believe it is important to have a
mighty heart and a strong mind.
